The Oak Grove plan minimizes residential development and
maximizes public parkland on a 562-acre property in Pleasanton’s
southeast hills. The number of custom lots is limited to 51 on
62 acres (with four acres for roads and other support
facilities). The remaining 497 acres will be given to the City
free-of-charge as a public nature park with miles of hiking,
biking and equestrian trails and an 11-car parking area with a
public bathroom. Pleasanton residents gain access to the
southeast hills without paying a dime for purchasing the park or
developing the trails.

residents who
are excited about the new, nearly 500-acre city-owned park at
Oak Grove.
Compare the
maps below to see how Oak Grove preserves both open space and
neighborhood character. On the left is a map of the property as
it is today; on the right is a map of what the 51 custom lots
and the nearly 500-acre, public park will likely look like after
the lots are purchased, buyers design their custom homes and the
City approves homes that fit into the natural environment at Oak
Grove.
