The Oak Grove property is 562 acres in the southeast hills within the City of Pleasanton. Adjacent neighborhoods include Kottinger Ranch, Vintage Hills II and Grey Eagle Estates. There are 12,000± oak trees on the property today. The Oak Grove plan preserves the oak woodland and results in a net gain of over 1000 trees on the property. Over 87% of the Oak Grove site is within the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) and the City’s General Plan designates the property for as many as 98 homes. The Oak Grove plan essentially commits 88% of the site to become a city-owned greenbelt within the UGB that seals Pleasanton’s southern boundary while halving the number of lots from 98 to 51.
